This is a superb small cup, very collectible from Cochiti, one of the harder pueblos to collect and one of the finest examples in the show. It is visually very strong from the Robert Nichols collection and finely, precisely painted, a rarity in old Cochiti cups. The low hanging handle dramatically rests just off the ground. The handles very survival shows the care given this wonderful cup. The cup has also seen considerable (likely) ethnographic use.
Condition: Excellent especially for its age; original and unrestored condition.
Provenance: The Robert Nichols Collection
