Really nice historic Acoma black-on-white pottery is hard to find. Especially rare are serving bowls; rarer still when they are as wonderful as this one. I am not sure why old serving sized bowls are so rarely seen. Maybe they just weren’t made by Acoma potters. Or maybe they weren’t loved enough by the old traders or the rare tourists who would find their way to Acoma. But this is beautiful. It features very fine lines, black triangles perhaps representing mountains or clouds depending on whether they are facing up or down. There is a slightly flared black rim to adding to the modern feel of the bowl. It is thin and light, yet tough enough for home use.

It is also in remarkable condition with wear from use or handling (a good thing!), but no cracks, chips or restoration.

A lovely and highly collectible example.
