Highly visual and satisfying example with signs of pueblo home use, known as ethnographic wear” on the surface and rim. This is a good thing; adding warmth to this decidedly modern design. The checkerboard motif alternates white and rich red mini-fields that circle the jar’s mid-body. The orange squares are bisected with narrow white ribbons, themselves bisected by a narrower black line; upon closer look, this is far more complex than it first appears. The white squares have stylized crosses. The design on the neck is simple and modern; slanted parallel lines against a snowy white slip. The form too is classic and lovely.
Condition is excellent, original with ethnographic wear.
