San Ildefonso Polychrome Jar, c. 1910. Slipped white to the bottom with fancy mid-body designs, this lovely jar has exceptional provenance. It’s rag wiped slip helps to date it to post-1905, the year that Martina Vigil introduced Cochiti rag-wiped slip to San Ildefonso potters, largely ending the more tedious stone polishing. Provenance: the Whiteside collection The collection of Lyn A. Fox. A prestigious State of Washington collection.
