This is my last of what was an extensive stock of Cochiti figures by Ada Suina, perhaps my all time favorite. In fact this sweet singing mother was one of her very last traditional large pieces in the old Cochiti story teller style. It is sad that so many of the women who created these figures have passed or are no longer active. As this piece shows, even late in her career, Ada was still quite capable of making figures that touch our heart. Rare and just wonderful.
