From the exquisite Mittler collection comes this rare unusual and delightful elephant figure. It is unsigned, but likely collected directly from Francis Naranjo Suina (1902-1992). I am far more familiar with Francis Suina’s storyteller figures (see the book Clay Mirror p. 161). So this sweet elephant with the surprised face and clouds in the mountains design on its back is a rare treasure.
