From an outstanding collection of heavily used Pueblo pottery comes this gorgeous large jar with heavy water wear on one side. The complex overall design is arrayed along three horizontal design fields: one from the neck to the shoulder, a narrow mid body band of slanted alternating rectangles and the widest band from mid body to the bottom which depicts rain, mountains and lightning. The jar is large, potted thinly and light, with a slight lean. The few areas of orange/red mineral slip provide an artistic color break from the largely black-on-white elements. Magnificent jar.
