Acoma potter Mary Histia was once known for (among other forms) unusual cylinder. Now Franklin Peters, who has become a master of many forms, has created this version. The complex overall design is arrayed along three horizontal fields with fine lines embedded in wavelike devices at the top and bottom and within both a bat-like form and within a circular black cloud with rain and and four petal flower along the mid body. This is largely a black-on-white design, a polychrome only due to the red base. Beautiful!!
