Large Classic Tewa Water Jar by Lonnie Vigil, Nambe Pueblo From Lonnie Vigil, one of NM contemporary pueblo pottery’s most treasured artists, comes the striking Tewa style water jar. It is beautifully formed with a long neck and flaring rim. At the base of the neck is a double rainbow band. It is widest at the middle, fully rounded as it gently slopes downward to a narrow base. The natural mica infused slip fired to a deep golden orange, with the surface kissed by near countless gorgeous fire clouds, a blessing of the natural firing process and a testament to Lonnie’s prodigious skill in natural firing. We have asked Lonnie for only important masterworks. He has again fulfilled this request with this stunning creation.
