Opens May 18, reception from 4;00-6:00pm; demonstration from 11:00-3:00 on Saturday May 19
Darance Chimerica resides on Third Mesa in the village of Hotevilla. He has been carving going on 17 years. He tries to stick to the traditional method of carving; at times it can be a challenge. He tries to carve kachinas as how he sees them in physical form; some he carves through word of mouth. HIs materials are tanned leather, string, pheasant feathers, duck and parrot feathers.
